Free health checks at Middleton Grange Shopping Centre
Hartlepool shoppers will be able to receive free blood pressure checks as well as advice on healthy living as part of Middleton Grange Shopping Centre’s ongoing ‘Healthy Hart’ campaign.
On Friday 24 August, from 1pm until 4pm, popular gym chain, Xercise4Less and Hartlepool Borough Council’s Community Connector, Roz Charlton, have teamed up to offer free one-on-one advice sessions for members of the community.
Throughout the afternoon Roz will be providing support and advice relating to balanced eating choices, how to increase fitness levels as well as boosting mental health. Xercise4Less will also be on hand offering free blood pressure checks.
Mark Rycraft, Middleton Grange Shopping Centre manager, said: “We are really pleased to welcome Roz to the centre as she will providing a really positive service to our customers. The range of knowledge and inspiration she will be offering fits very nicely with our current summer activities, all of which are geared up to encourage youngsters to keep active over the school holidays.
“Our life-size anatomy wall where youngsters learn how the human body works and our free ping pong parlour have proved especially popular,” said Mark.
“As a centre we are committed to promoting healthy living and throughout the year we have been running themed activities aimed at encouraging families to better their lifestyle. All of which have received a great response and I’m sure this event will go down very well with our visitors,” he added.
Hartlepool Borough Council’s Community Connectors helps people access support to improve physical and mental wellbeing, live more independently as well as being an active member of the community. It also offers practical advice on how to tackle problems and build confidence.
Commenting on her visit to the centre, Roz, said: “I’m delighted to have this chance to interact with Middleton Grange shoppers directly. It’s a great way for me to promote the work the team carries out to those who otherwise might not know that we exist.”
Chris Richardson from Xercise4Less, added: “The free blood pressure check is also a vitally important service we provide. It’s easy to do and detects any issues quickly so hopefully, any potential problem can be sorted out before any real damage is done.”
Roz and Chris will be located outside the centre’s anatomy wall in Middleton Grange’s centre square on Friday 24 August from 1pm until 4pm. Roz will be available to have a chat to anyone looking to make a positive change in their life and Chris will be offering free blood pressure checks throughout the afternoon.
For those wanting a more in-depth session, they can also book an appointment with Roz for a later date.
